Key takeaways
- The job decides the tool. A suite such as Semrush or Ahrefs supplies keyword and backlink data, while Surfer SEO, Clearscope or Frase score a draft, and trackers such as LLMrefs or Otterly measure mentions in AI answers.
- Each plan counts something different: sites, documents, articles, credits, tracked prompts or seats. The unit you outgrow first sets your real price, so compare that number rather than the headline monthly fee.
- AI visibility tracking now ships inside suites (Semrush, SE Ranking, Surfer, Frase, Clearscope, Writesonic) and as separate products (Ahrefs Brand Radar from 179 EUR a month, LLMrefs at a flat 79 USD).
- Entry prices run from free or about 5 USD a month up to 999 USD a month. Enterprise GEO platforms such as Profound and several MarketMuse plans publish no price at all.
- Every card shows the date its facts were last verified against vendor pages. Older entries from August 2026 are the first to re-check before you buy.

How the order works. Compiled from vendor documentation and published pricing, with each tool's facts last verified between August and 29 October 2026. Inside each job the order rests on three things: how much of the job the vendor documents the product doing, how clearly it publishes price and plan limits, and whether free access lets a buyer check fit before paying. Price alone does not set rank.

What are AI SEO tools, and which jobs do they do?
AI SEO tools are software that applies machine learning to search optimization work: finding keywords, scoring drafts, fixing pages, writing content, building links or measuring brand mentions in AI answers. The label covers ten different jobs, and most tools do one or two of them well.
The ten groups below are the jobs this guide ranks inside. Comparing a keyword suite with an alt text generator tells you nothing, so every ranking is within one job.
Which AI SEO tool fits your situation?
Match your situation to the job first, then read the ranked group. This table points to the groups and the tools to open first, based on the documented limits in each profile.
| Your situation | Start with |
|---|---|
| One WordPress site and a small budget | Rank Math Content AI (5.99 EUR a month on annual billing), SEOPress (49 USD a year) or the free core of Yoast SEO |
| No keyword or backlink data source yet | Semrush, Ahrefs or SE Ranking |
| Publishing 10 to 40 articles a month and want a pre-publish check | Surfer SEO, NeuronWriter or Frase |
| A large keyword list to group into pages | Keyword Insights or SEOSpark |
| Thousands of pages needing titles, schema or links | OTTO SEO, Alli AI or Nytro SEO |
| Want to know if ChatGPT or Perplexity mention you, cheaply | LLMrefs (79 USD flat), OtterlyAI or GetIntel (29 USD) |
| Enterprise site, regional brand or JavaScript-heavy pages | Profound, Scrunch AI or GetCito |
| No SEO staff and want the work done for you | Ranked or hikeseo |
| Thousands of images missing alt text | AltTextLab (free 25 credits a month) |
What do AI SEO tools cost, and what does each plan count?
Entry prices range from free or about 5 USD a month to 999 USD a month, and several enterprise tools publish no price. What matters more is the unit a plan counts, because that unit sets your real cost as you grow.
| Plan counts | Examples from this guide | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Sites or domains | Ranked (99 USD per website), seo.ai (149 USD for one site and one language), Link Whisper (97 USD a year for one site) | Whether subdomains, languages and client sites each count |
| Documents or articles | Surfer SEO (120 documents), NeuronWriter (25 documents at $23), Frase (10 articles at 39 USD yearly) | Whether updating an old article uses a new document |
| Credits | Keyword Insights (10,000 credits), AltTextLab (25 free a month) | What one article or one image costs in credits |
| Tracked prompts, questions or answers | LLMrefs (500 prompts), GetIntel (25 questions), KIVA (1,800 AI answers), Writesonic (50 prompts) | How often each prompt is sampled, since AI answers vary between runs |
| Seats | Konvart (45 USD per user for teams) | Cost growth as the team grows |
| Quote only | Profound, paid MarketMuse plans, Peec AI, Creaitor | Budget approval before price discovery |
Do you need a separate tool to track AI answers, or does your SEO suite cover it?
Often the suite covers a first look. Semrush, SE Ranking, Surfer SEO, Frase, Clearscope, NeuronWriter and Writesonic each list AI visibility tracking, and Ahrefs sells Brand Radar as a separate product. A dedicated tracker earns its place when you need more engines, more prompts or repeated sampling.
Check two things in any tracker: how many prompts the plan includes, and how often each is run. A single run of a nondeterministic model is noise, while repeated sampling is measurement. Evertune, for example, states 100 samples per prompt across 11 models, and LLMrefs states 500 prompts on one flat plan.
Can ChatGPT or an AI agent do SEO on its own?
Not reliably on its own. An assistant can draft titles, outlines and schema, but it has no view of your Search Console data, your crawl or your rankings unless a tool supplies them. The tools above add that data and a review step before anything changes on your site.
Several vendors in this guide state that fixes wait for approval (Yoast bulk metadata, Hack the SEO, seo.ai review-first mode). Where a tool applies changes automatically, confirm whether you can undo them, as Link Whisper’s activity log with undo does for links.
How is this guide ranked and checked?
Each tool here has a full profile on this site, and every price, limit and free-tier statement on its card is read from that profile. Profiles are compiled from the vendor’s own pricing and product pages, with the verification date shown on the card.
Within a job, the order follows three questions: how much of the job the vendor documents the product doing, how clearly it publishes price and plan limits, and whether free access lets you check fit first. A tool whose prices are not published ranks below a comparable one that publishes them. Nothing here was installed or run, so the order is editorial judgement from documentation, not a benchmark. Rank is never changed for commission or link arrangements. One tool here, GetIntel, has an agreed follow link on its directory profile, and it is ranked on the same three questions as the rest. This guide contains no affiliate links, and vendor links in it are nofollow.
Full SEO suites with AI features
Keyword databases, rank tracking, audits and backlink data from one vendor, now with AI visibility reporting added. Start here if you have no SEO data source yet.
Semrush
SEO suite for keyword research, audits, backlinks and AI visibility tracking
Best for: Marketers who need keywords, audits, rank tracking and AI visibility from one vendor
Ranked first because it documents the widest scope and is the only suite here whose free plan has published limits. AI visibility reporting sits inside the paid plans, with 50 prompts daily on Starter and 100 on Pro+. Seat counts and Advanced pricing are not published.
- Starting price
- 112.52 EUR per month on annual billing (134 EUR billed monthly) for SEO, 5 websites and 500 daily keywords
- Free access
- Free plan: 1 demo project and 10 reports a day, no credit card required. Paid plans offer a free trial; the footer states seven days.
- Facts verified

Documented strengths
- Keyword research, competitor analysis and market analysis toolkits
- Rank tracking with 500 daily keywords on SEO and Starter, 1,500 on Pro+
- Technical site audit and backlink analysis
Documented limits
- The pricing page does not state user counts for the SEO, Starter or Pro+ plans, and extra users are an add-on from 43 EUR a month
- The SEO plan lists no AI prompt limit
Worth it if: Semrush fits a marketer who needs keyword research, rank tracking, audits and AI visibility reports from one vendor, from 112.52 EUR a month on annual billing.
Skip it if: You need published user seat counts or an AI prompt cap on the entry plan, or you only need one narrow job, since the entry plan lists 5 websites and 500 daily keywords.
Ahrefs
Backlink, keyword and rank data suite with Brand Radar for AI mentions
Best for: Teams that put backlink and keyword data first and want an AI mentions product
Strong documented data tools (Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Rank Tracker) plus an MCP server and API for AI assistants. Brand Radar, its AI mention tracker, is sold separately from 179 EUR a month, so budget for two products if AI visibility matters.
- Starting price
- 119 EUR per month for Lite, 750 keywords and 1 user (Starter is listed at 27 EUR a month without stated limits)
- Free access
- Ahrefs Free is offered; the pricing page lists no limits or trial terms for it.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Site Audit and Rank Tracker
- Brand Radar tracking brand mentions, citations and sentiment across AI chatbots
- Content Explorer and AI Content Helper
Documented limits
- Each of Lite, Standard and Advanced includes 1 user; extra seats are paid add-ons
- Annual prices were not listed on the page; only a saving of up to 17% is stated
Worth it if: Ahrefs suits a marketer who wants backlink and keyword data with rank tracking, from 119 EUR a month for Lite with 750 keywords and 1 user.
Skip it if: You need several seats on one price, since each plan includes 1 user, or want AI visibility bundled, since Brand Radar AI starts at 179 EUR a month on its own.
SE Ranking
Rank tracking, keyword research and audits with an AI Search add-on
Best for: Budget-conscious teams that want rank tracking and audits on a published price
The lowest entry price of the three suites, with 10 projects and 2,000 daily keywords on Core. AI Search tracking is a paid add-on at 79 EUR a month on monthly billing, which narrows the price gap once you add it.
- Starting price
- 87.20 EUR per month on annual billing (109 EUR billed monthly) for Core, 10 projects and 2,000 daily keywords
- Free access
- No free plan. Core and Growth offer a 14 day free trial with no credit card required.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Rank tracking, Keyword Suggestion Tool and Keyword Grouper
- Website Audit, On-Page SEO Checker and Backlink Checker
- Content Editor and AI Writer, with 25 articles on Core and 50 on Growth
Documented limits
- Core has 1 manager seat and Growth has 3; extra seats are from 14.40 EUR a month
- AI Search is an add-on at 79 EUR a month (63.20 EUR annual), with 5 projects and 75 prompts daily
Worth it if: SE Ranking suits a marketer who wants rank tracking, audits and keyword research on a published price, from 87.20 EUR a month on annual billing with a 14 day trial.
Skip it if: You need AI visibility inside the base plan, since AI Search is a paid add-on, or need more than 3 manager seats without paying for extras.
Content optimization and brief tools
Score a draft against what ranks for a keyword, build a brief, and in newer versions watch how AI engines cite you. Plans are capped by documents, articles or tracked queries.
Surfer SEO
Content optimization scoring plus AI answer tracking, sold by document credits
Best for: Publishers who need a consistent pre-publish check across many articles
Ranked first for pairing content scoring with AI answer tracking at a published price: 1 seat and 120 documents on Discovery. There is no free plan, and the guarantee excludes add-ons, AI credits and overages.
- Starting price
- 49 EUR per month for Discovery, 1 seat and 120 documents
- Free access
- No free plan. A 7 day money-back guarantee applies to first-time monthly subscribers, excluding add-ons, AI credits and overages.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Content Editor reliably surfaces subtopics competitors cover that your draft missed
- Topical Map turns a subject into a plannable cluster rather than a list of keywords
- AI Tracker monitors prompts across answer engines, which most SEO platforms still treat as an afterthought
Documented limits
- Pricing is per document rather than per seat, so cost tracks output volume in a way that is easy to underestimate
- The Discovery plan is a single seat, which rules it out for most teams
Worth it if: You publish enough content to need a consistent pre-publish check, at 49 EUR a month for 1 seat and 120 documents.
Skip it if: Your problem is technical health or links rather than content coverage, or you publish at low volume, since credits expire against a monthly allowance.
NeuronWriter
Content editor with NLP term scoring and AI visibility monitoring, capped per plan
Best for: Solo marketers who want a low fixed document allowance
The lowest-priced paid editor in this group, from 25 documents and 2 projects at $23 a month up to 150 documents at $117. It also lists AI Visibility monitoring for 5 to 20 questions depending on plan. Bronze and Silver content-analysis caps are not published.
- Starting price
- $23 a month for Bronze, 25 documents and 2 projects
- Free access
- No permanent free tier. The FAQ states a free 7 day test after creating an account, under Gold plan terms. A refund can be requested on the first plan purchased within 30 days.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Content Writer editor that scores a draft using NLP terms drawn from search results for a target keyword
- Autoinsert terms, which uses AI to add keywords and facts to raise the content score
- Content Ideas, which suggests AI topics based on SERP intent
Documented limits
- Each plan caps documents (25 to 150), projects (2 to 50) and AI monitored questions (5 to 20).
- Bronze and Silver have no custom AI templates, Content Designer or unlimited team members, which start at Gold.
Worth it if: NeuronWriter fits a marketer who publishes a steady number of optimized articles and wants a fixed document allowance, from 25 documents at $23 a month to 150 at $117.
Skip it if: You need technical audits or backlink data, which the plans do not list, or you need more than 20 AI monitored questions, the highest cap on the published plans.
Frase
SEO and GEO content research, writing and monitoring, sold by monthly article caps
Best for: One-site marketers producing around 10 articles a month
Research, writing and monitoring in one plan, capped by articles: 10 on Starter, 40 on Professional at 129 USD monthly. Content Guard drafts fixes for ranking decay for approval, and publishing reaches WordPress, Webflow, Wix and others.
- Starting price
- 39 USD per month billed yearly (49 USD month to month) for Starter, 1 seat and 10 articles
- Free access
- No free plan published. A 7 day trial with no credit card is offered on Starter, Professional and Scale, capped at 5 articles, 50 audit pages, 25 AI prompts and up to 3 seats.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Research, writer and images are included on all plans, with SEO and GEO scores
- AI Visibility monitors prompts across AI answer engines, with more engines on higher plans
- Content Guard watches for ranking decay and drafts fixes for approval
Documented limits
- Starter caps at 1 seat, 1 site, 10 articles, 50 audit pages and 25 AI generations a month
- Starter holds at its limits, while Professional and Scale offer optional pay-as-you-go overages that are off by default
Worth it if: Frase suits a single-site marketer producing about 10 articles a month, or a small team on Professional at 129 USD monthly for 3 seats and 40 articles.
Skip it if: You need a published free tier or more than 10 sites without Enterprise, since Scale tops out at 10 and no free plan is published.
Clearscope
Content optimization and AI query tracking, sold by tracked queries and pages
Best for: Editorial teams with many writers on one plan
Users are unlimited, so cost scales with tracked queries and pages rather than headcount: 50 of each on Essentials. It also lists query tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. The highest entry price in this group and no free plan.
- Starting price
- 129 USD per month for Essentials, 50 tracked queries and 50 pages
- Free access
- No free plan. A 14 day free trial is mentioned on the pricing page. Trial limits and card requirement are not published.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Query Tracking monitors where a brand appears in ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, and where competitors are recommended
- Query Discovery finds queries driving search and AI visibility from a topic or website URL
- Search intent analysis shows the reasons behind a search so content can match it
Documented limits
- Essentials caps tracked queries at 50 and pages at 50, with 20 Discoveries and 20 Drafts a month
- Business raises tracked queries and pages to 300 but keeps Drafts at 20 a month
Worth it if: Clearscope fits a team that needs many writers on one plan, since users are unlimited, and can work within 50 tracked queries and 50 pages at 129 USD a month.
Skip it if: You need published integrations or plan-level report credit amounts before buying, since the pricing page lists neither.
MarketMuse
Content planning and brief generation, sold by briefs, topics and queries
Best for: Strategists planning content clusters from an existing site
Ranked last in this group only because paid prices are demo-only. It is the planning-focused option: cluster analysis, topic difficulty scoring and briefs. The free plan gives 1 user and 10 queries a month but no briefs or strategy documents.
- Starting price
- Free plan with 10 queries a month. Paid plan prices are not published.
- Free access
- Free plan with 1 user and 10 queries a month, with no briefs, tracked topics, site inventory or strategy documents. A free trial link is shown, but its terms are not published.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Content clusters analysis finds topic clusters and quick wins based on existing authority
- Content planning scores topics by personalized ranking difficulty and produces a roadmap
- Content briefs recommend structure, expertise and depth, with a generative AI component in Optimize
Documented limits
- Prices for Optimize, Research and Strategy are not published, and their call to action is Book a demo
- Free allows 10 queries a month and no briefs, tracked topics, site inventory or strategy documents
Worth it if: MarketMuse suits a marketer who wants to start on the free plan at 10 queries a month and plan content from a site inventory before deciding on a paid tier.

Keyword Insights
Keyword clustering, briefs and AI writing sold as monthly credit allowances
Best for: Content teams clustering keyword lists into pages and drafting from briefs

- Starting price
- 58 USD per month for Basic with 10,000 credits, rising to 99 USD for Professional

- No free plan. 7 day trial for 1 USD with 5000 one-time credits, then the account moves to pay as you go.

- Clustering by SERP similarity so each cluster maps to a page, with search intent split across the top 10 results and competitor visibility benchmarking
- Content briefs built from live search results, at 100 credits a brief
Documented limits
- Credit allowances are fixed per plan: 10,000 on Basic and 20,000 on Professional. Whether unused credits expire or roll over is not stated in the cached pricing text.
- Basic has 1 user seat and 5 workspaces. Professional has 3 seats and 10 workspaces. Team sharing starts on Professional.
Worth it if: Keyword Insights fits an SEO or content team that clusters keywords into pages and drafts from briefs, and can plan around 10,000 credits a month on Basic, which is about 8 AI Writing Agent articles.
Skip it if: You write mostly with the AI Writing Agent at 1200 credits an article, or you need to know whether unused credits carry over, which the cached pricing text does not answer.
KeywordsPeopleUse
Question and autocomplete keyword research priced by monthly credits and alerts
Best for: Content marketers building question-led outlines
A narrow, cheap tool for question and autocomplete research, with alerts when new questions appear. Lite allows 150 credits a month and Standard 500 at 39 USD. The trial needs a card up front.

Documented limits

Best for: Freelance SEOs clustering very large keyword lists

- The trial package (2 blogs, a technical SEO report, a customer mindmap and a keyword plan) is obtained by contacting the company, and the pricing FAQ says there is no free trial.
Worth it if: Xari fits a growth team that wants up to 30 AI blogs a month, 1,000 tracked keywords and a technical SEO task list in one plan, and can pay 999 USD a month.
Skip it if: You want to self-serve a trial or pay less than 999 USD a month, since only one paid plan is shown and the trial is arranged by contacting the company.

Image SEO and alt text tools
Alt text and filenames for large image libraries. Credits are the unit, so count images before comparing.
AltTextLab
Context-aware image alt text with bulk processing, sold as credits or pay-as-you-go
Best for: Catalogues that want product names and target keywords in every description
Ranked first because it has a recurring free allowance: 25 credits a month, 130+ languages and bulk processing in plugins. Paid plans run from 5 USD for 100 credits to 189 USD for 10,000.

- Free access
- Free plan with 25 credits a month, unlimited websites, 130+ languages, bulk processing in plugins and custom SEO keywords.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Reads each image in context, including objects and embedded text, and writes a description meant for screen readers and image search, in 130+ languages
- Accepts custom SEO keywords, an e-commerce mode that includes product names, colours and materials, a chosen writing style and a set output length
- Bulk-processes an entire image library in one run through plugins, and by default only fills images with an empty or missing alt attribute
Documented limits
- Credits are the unit and one credit equals one image, so cost scales with image count: from 0.05 USD a credit at the entry Pro tier.
- The web snippet that adds alt text to every image automatically is available on subscription plans only, not on pay-as-you-go.
Worth it if: AltTextLab fits an e-commerce team or agency with a large image backlog that wants product names and target keywords in every description, starting free at 25 credits a month or at 5 USD for 100.
Skip it if: You need Scale's custom credit volume without a sales conversation, or you need a published price above 189 USD a month, since Scale starts at 200 USD with no credit figure.

- Ships as plugins, apps and extensions for WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, HubSpot, Webflow, Figma, Framer, Magento, BigCommerce, Joomla and Drupal, plus browser add-ons
Documented limits

- No subscription or recurring plan is listed, and the pricing page shows no free allowance. Free generator tools are linked from the homepage without published limits.
Worth it if: Alt Text Generator AI fits a site owner or agency filling alt text on a WordPress, Shopify or Webflow catalogue that prefers a one-time pack, such as 15 USD for 500 descriptions with no subscription.
Skip it if: You want a monthly plan or a free allowance you can rely on, or you need bulk volume priced beyond the 1,600 credit pack, since only three packs are listed.
AI visibility tracking with published prices
Measure whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews mention or cite your brand. Answers vary between runs, so look at how often each prompt is sampled.
LLMrefs
One plan, 500 prompts, every engine, unlimited seats
Best for: Teams that want one flat price covering every engine
Ranked first for the simplest published plan in the category: 500 prompts, every engine, unlimited projects and seats at 79 USD a month. There is no free plan.
- Starting price
- 79 USD per month, single tier
- Free access
- No free plan. 7 day free trial with no credit card required.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- A single plan at 79 dollars a month with 500 prompts, unlimited projects and unlimited team members, which is a fraction of enterprise alternatives
- Coverage spans 11 or more engines including ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta AI and DeepSeek
- Geo-targeting across more than 50 countries and 20 languages, which most competitors restrict by tier
Documented limits
- One paid tier only, so there is no plan with a larger base allowance to grow into, and no published price for the extra keywords sold on top of the 500
- No SSO, audit logs or enterprise contracting terms are offered, which rules it out of some procurement processes
Worth it if: You want AI search tracking at a flat 79 USD a month with 500 prompts, unlimited projects and unlimited seats.
Skip it if: You need more than 500 tracked prompts, since there is no larger tier, or you need SSO and enterprise support terms.
OtterlyAI
AI search monitoring from 29 USD, with newer engines sold separately
Best for: Testing whether AI visibility matters to you, cheaply
Daily tracking and unlimited seats on every tier from 29 USD a month (25 USD billed annually). Newer engines are sold separately.
- Starting price
- 29 USD per month for Lite, or 25 USD billed annually
- Free access
- No free plan. A free trial is offered for new users.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Entry pricing at 29 dollars a month is the lowest credible option reviewed in this category
- Daily update frequency on every tier including the cheapest, where competitors often reserve refresh rate for higher plans
- Unlimited team members on all tiers, so the data is not rationed by seat cost
Documented limits
- Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are add-ons rather than included, so real engine coverage costs more than the headline price
- The jump from Lite at 29 dollars to Standard at 189 is more than sixfold, with 15 prompts against 100
Worth it if: You want to test whether AI search visibility matters to you at 29 USD a month, with daily tracking and unlimited seats on every tier.
Skip it if: You need Claude, Gemini or AI Mode coverage without paying extra, or you track more than 400 prompts.
Rankscale
Tracks 17 or more AI engines, with page audits and prompt volume research
Best for: Brands that need coverage beyond the usual four or five engines
Tracks 17 or more engines including DeepSeek, Grok and Mistral, with page audits and prompt volume research, from 20 USD a month.
- Starting price
- From 20 USD a month for Essentials
- Free access
- No free plan. 7 day free trial on Pro, with no charge until day 7.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Coverage of 17 or more engines including DeepSeek, Grok and Mistral alongside the obvious ones, which is the broadest in this category
- Page audits evaluating more than 200 technical factors address retrieval, which is the one causally clear part of AI visibility
- Prompt research with volume estimation tackles the guesswork most competitors leave to the customer
Documented limits
- No pricing published, which is now the exception in this category rather than the norm, since several competitors publish full tier lists
- Founded in October 2024, so the product, the data history and the company are all young
Worth it if: You need coverage beyond the four or five engines most tools track, at 17 or more including DeepSeek, Grok and Mistral.
Skip it if: Your procurement requires a long vendor track record, or you need published pricing to shortlist.
GetIntel
AI visibility tracker that checks answer engines daily, priced by question count
Best for: SaaS marketing teams tracking a fixed list of buyer questions daily

- Starting price
- 29 USD per month for Monitor (25 questions)
- Free access
- No free plan. A 7 day trial with Pro access covers 25 questions checked daily. A free score check of 60 checks needs no signup.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Four engines checked daily on every plan: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with Claude added weekly on Growth
- Each question gets an answer state per engine (recommended, mentioned, absent or open), an average position when named, the full answer text and the cited domains and pages
- Questions are grouped into buyer topics, each scored on a 7 day rolling measure with trend and week over week change
Documented limits
- Claude is covered only on Growth and only weekly. The other four engines are daily.
- Question counts are capped per plan: 25 on Monitor, 60 on Pro and 120 on Growth.
Worth it if: GetIntel fits a SaaS marketing team or agency that wants daily tracking of a defined list of buyer questions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, from 29 USD a month.
Skip it if: You need Claude tracked daily, since it is weekly and Growth only, you need more than 120 questions on one plan, or you cannot enter a card for the trial.

- Starting price
- 29 USD per month for Basic with 1,800 AI answers, rising to 497 USD for Scale
- Free access
- No free plan. 7 day free trial on every plan, with no charges during the trial.
- Facts verified
- October 2026
Documented strengths
- Tracks citations in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode, separating explicit mentions from implicit ones
- Reads how the brand is described inside the cited pages themselves, not only in the answer wording
- Daily updates down to the URL, with historical views of which pages cited a brand then and now
Documented limits
- Plans are billed monthly only. The balance resets on the billing date and unused answers do not roll over.
- The AI answer allowance is 1,800, 6,500, 18,000 or 36,000 a month. How many answers one tracked prompt uses per engine and day is not stated on the pricing page.
Worth it if: KIVA by Wellows fits a brand or agency that wants citation tracking across five AI engines with unlimited projects, and can work within 1,800 AI answers a month on Basic at 29 USD.
Skip it if: You need annual billing or credits that roll over, since the plans are monthly only and unused answers reset on the billing date.
Writesonic
AI visibility tracking, site audits and GEO content fixes, capped by prompts and seats
Best for: Marketers wanting tracking, AI crawler audits and GEO page fixes together

- Starting price
- $79 a month for Starter on annual billing, with 50 prompts and 1 user
- Free access
- The page states start free with no credit card needed and shows Start free trial buttons, but gives no trial length or permanent free allowance. A 7 day no-questions-asked refund is stated.

- Site audit covering robots.txt, schema, indexing and broken pages, flagging 404 and 500 errors served to GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot

- Starter, Basic and Growth track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and only Enterprise tracks all 9 platforms.
- Action Center is a trial on Growth at 5 off-page and 5 on-page actions a month, and absent on Starter and Basic.
Worth it if: Writesonic fits a marketer who wants AI visibility tracking, AI crawler audits and GEO content fixes in one plan, from 50 tracked prompts at $79 a month to 200 at $399.
Skip it if: You need a published monthly price, since the page shows annual billing only, or you need more than 2 projects, which requires Enterprise.
AthenaHQ
AI search visibility tracking with a fully published price list
Best for: Teams that want a fully published price list and unlimited seats
Publishes every tier, with unlimited seats including on the free Essential plan of 300 credits and 5 AI platforms. Paid Starter is 295 USD a month, with a 17 percent annual discount.
- Starting price
- 295 USD per month for Starter, with a 17 percent annual discount
- Free access
- Essential plan with 300 credits and 5 AI platforms, unlimited seats.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Pricing is fully published, from a free tier to a 295 dollar Starter plan, which is close to unique in this category
- One credit equals one AI response, so cost can be calculated from prompts times engines times refresh frequency
- Unlimited seats on every tier including the free plan, so the tool does not tax collaboration
Documented limits
- API access on the Starter plan is a paid add-on billed separately, so the 295 dollar figure is a floor rather than a total
- Credits are consumed per response, so tracking many prompts across many engines daily exhausts an allowance faster than the headline number suggests
Worth it if: You need a published price to benchmark GEO quotes against, and unlimited seats on every tier including the free 300-credit plan.
Skip it if: You track many brands, where credit consumption multiplies, or you need API access on the entry paid plan rather than as a billed add-on.
Peec AI
AI visibility analytics with a published feature matrix and unpublished prices
Best for: Teams that want a detailed feature matrix before talking to sales
Daily tracking across six engines on every tier with a detailed published feature matrix, but Starter, Pro and Advanced carry no prices on the site.
- Starting price
- Not published. Starter, Pro and Advanced tiers are named without prices.
- Free access
- No free plan published. A free trial is referenced on the site.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Daily tracking on every tier including the entry plan, where competitors often reserve frequency for higher tiers
- Six engines covered on all plans, including AI Mode, AI Overviews and Copilot alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini
- Source identification shows which publications engines cite, not only whether you appear
Documented limits
- No prices published on any tier, despite a fully published feature comparison, which is the worst of both worlds for budgeting
- Projects are capped at 1, 2 and 5 across the self-serve tiers, which is restrictive for agencies
Worth it if: You want daily AI visibility tracking across six engines on every tier, with the feature matrix published in detail.
Skip it if: You are an agency, since project limits of 1 to 5 constrain multi-client work, or you operate in more than three countries per project.
Creaitor
Tracks how AI assistants mention a brand, sold by domains, credits and models
Best for: Marketing teams tracking up to 7 domains across four assistants
Tracks mentions across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude with 10,000 credits a month and up to 7 domains. No price is published.
- Starting price
- Not published

- Reports visibility score, share of voice, source citations, brand sentiment and competitor benchmarks
- Models included by tier: 2 on Starter (ChatGPT, Gemini), 3 on Plus (adds Perplexity), 4 on Pro (adds Claude), and a wider set on Enterprise
Documented limits
- No plan price is shown. The pricing page text lists Starter, Plus and Pro with a per-month label and no amount, and Enterprise as Custom.
- Claude and API access start at Pro. Starter tracks ChatGPT and Gemini only, and Plus adds Perplexity.
Worth it if: Creaitor fits a marketing team tracking up to 7 domains on 10,000 credits a month across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, and willing to start from the 7 day free trial.
Skip it if: You need a published price before a trial, or Claude and API access below Pro, since Starter and Plus omit Claude and no plan price appears on the page.

- Free access
- Free Starter is a one-time audit of 50 search queries in 1 language and 1 region with community support, not a recurring allowance.

- Free Starter is a one-time audit with 50 one-time search queries, 1 language and 1 region, and community support. Daily monitoring, all languages and regions and SSO start on Enterprise.
Worth it if: XFunnel fits an SEO or growth team that wants to see how its brand appears across nine AI search platforms, and can start from a one-time 50 query audit before paying for Enterprise.
Skip it if: You need a self-serve paid plan with a posted price, since Enterprise is quoted on request, or you need Meta AI or DeepSeek coverage, which are listed as coming soon.
Enterprise and managed GEO platforms
Higher-priced or quote-only platforms that add crawler data, delivery layers, services or knowledge graphs to monitoring.
Profound
Enterprise AI search visibility, including how AI crawlers read your site
Best for: Enterprises that need crawler-level data on how AI fetches their site
Documents how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity fetch and interpret your site. Pricing is by demo request only, so budget approval comes before price discovery.
- Starting price
- Not published. Pricing is quote only, via demo request.
- Free access
- A Trial tier listed as free, with no terms published.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Agent Analytics tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity crawl and interpret your site, which most competitors do not attempt
- Prompt Volumes data addresses the question everything else in the category dodges, which is what people actually ask AI
- Coverage spans eight named engines including Grok, DeepSeek and Copilot alongside the obvious ones
Documented limits
- No pricing published anywhere, so there is no way to assess affordability without entering a sales process
- Quote-only pricing in a young category means you cannot benchmark the proposal against anything public except AthenaHQ
Worth it if: You need crawler-level data on how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity fetch and interpret your site, with budget approved before price discovery.
Skip it if: You are a small team or a startup, where a quote-only process is a poor use of scarce time, or you want to start small and expand.
Scrunch AI
AI visibility monitoring that also serves separate page versions to AI agents
Best for: Sites with heavy client-side rendering that AI crawlers struggle to read
Monitoring plus a delivery layer that serves separate page versions to AI agents. Starter is 250 USD a month billed annually, 300 USD month to month.
- Starting price
- 250 USD a month for Starter billed annually, or 300 USD month-to-month
- Free access
- No free plan. 7 day free trial of Starter, instant signup with no credit card.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Monitoring covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot with citation rankings and competitor benchmarking
- Error detection for crawl issues addresses the one part of AI visibility with a clear causal chain
- A 7 day free trial exists, which is rare in a category that mostly gates everything behind demos
Documented limits
- The Agent Experience Platform serves AI-optimized page versions to bots, which sits close to cloaking and carries risk the marketing does not discuss
- No pricing published on the homepage, so comparison requires a sales conversation
Worth it if: Your site is heavy on client-side rendering and AI crawlers struggle with it, and you want monitoring plus a delivery layer.
Skip it if: You are unwilling to serve crawlers different content from users, or crawlability is not your constraint.
Evertune
Samples each prompt 100 times, and sells ad placement inside AI answers
Best for: Brands that want an AI visibility number backed by repeated sampling
Samples each prompt 100 times across 11 models, and also sells ad placement inside AI answers. No free access is published.
- Starting price
- 800 USD a month for Pro
- Free access
- None published.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Samples each prompt 100 times across every model, which addresses nondeterminism rather than ignoring it
- Benchmarks across 11 AI models rather than reading a single engine
- EverPanel, a stated panel of over 150 million user prompts, grounds prompt selection in observed demand rather than guesswork
Documented limits
- Selling ad placement in AI answers while also measuring AI visibility puts the vendor on both sides of the metric it reports
- No pricing published, so affordability cannot be assessed without a sales conversation
Worth it if: You want an AI visibility number with sampling behind it, at 800 USD a month for Pro: each prompt sampled 100 times across 11 models.
Skip it if: You want measurement kept strictly separate from media sales, since the same vendor sells ad placement inside AI answers.
Goodie
Answer engine optimization sold as software and service, including AI shopping
Best for: Brands that want execution with measurement, or products that must surface in AI shopping
Answer engine optimization sold as software and service, including AI shopping. Brand Core is 399 USD a month and the agency Growth tier 275 USD.
- Starting price
- 275 USD a month for the agency Growth tier, or 399 USD for brand Core
- Free access
- No free plan. 7 day free trial on the Core tier.
- Facts verified
- August 2026
Documented strengths
- Scope extends past measurement into content production, technical gap analysis and attribution
- The Agentic Commerce Suite addresses product visibility inside AI shopping agents, which almost nothing else covers yet
- The Agent Experience Suite targets technical retrievability, which is the causally clearest part of this work
Documented limits
- Case study figures such as a 127 percent increase in AI conversions are published without control groups or measurement methodology
- Being part software and part service makes the comparison against pure software vendors uneven on price and on scope
Worth it if: You want GEO execution alongside measurement, or you sell products that need to surface inside AI shopping agents.
Skip it if: You want software only and will do the work yourself, or you need published pricing to shortlist.

Frequently asked questions
What are the best AI SEO tools in 2026?
It depends on the job. In this guide Semrush ranks first among full suites, Surfer SEO for content optimization, Keyword Insights for clustering, OTTO SEO for bulk on-page fixes, Rank Math for WordPress, and LLMrefs for AI visibility tracking. Each ranking rests on documented scope, published price and free access.
Which AI SEO tool is best for a small budget?
The lowest published entry points here are AltTextLab at 5 USD a month, Rank Math Content AI at 5.99 EUR, KeywordsPeopleUse at 15 USD, Rankscale at 20 USD, NeuronWriter at 23 USD, and SEOPress at 49 USD a year. Each covers one job, not a full suite.
Is there a free AI SEO tool worth using?
Several offer free access with limits: Semrush gives 10 reports a day, Nytro SEO covers 1 site and 50 pages, AthenaHQ gives 300 credits, SEOPress and Yoast have free core plugins, and MarketMuse allows 10 queries a month. Check each card for what the free tier leaves out.
Do I need a separate tool to track visibility in ChatGPT and AI Overviews?
Not always. Semrush, SE Ranking, Surfer SEO, Frase, Clearscope and Writesonic bundle AI visibility tracking, though SE Ranking sells it as an add-on. Dedicated trackers such as LLMrefs at 79 USD a month cover more engines. Ahrefs sells Brand Radar separately from 179 EUR a month.
Can AI SEO tools replace an SEO professional?
Not on their own. Tools produce data, drafts and queued fixes, but a person still decides which fixes to approve and checks claims before publishing. Done-for-you services in this guide pair software with an account manager or agent, which is a different product from the software alone.
How do I compare AI SEO tool pricing fairly?
Find the unit each plan counts: sites, documents, articles, credits, tracked prompts or seats. Then estimate your monthly volume in that unit. The unit you exceed first sets your real cost, which is why a 49 EUR plan can cost more than a 129 USD plan for your workload.
How current are the prices in this guide?
Each card shows the date its facts were last verified against the vendor's pages, between August and 29 October 2026. Prices on vendor sites can change without notice, and some are shown in local currency, so confirm on the vendor's pricing page before buying.
