Key takeaways

  • Tracking is now a feature of tools you may own: Semrush, Nightwatch, SE Ranking, Ahrefs, Frase and Writesonic all list AI prompt tracking. Ahrefs sells its Brand Radar separately from 179 EUR a month.
  • Each plan counts something different: prompts a day, AI answers, credits, engines, domains or projects. Compare the unit you will exhaust first, not the headline fee.
  • Entry prices run from 20 USD a month (Rankscale Essentials) to 800 USD (Evertune Pro). Profound, Conductor, Peec AI and Creaitor publish no plan price.
  • Few vendors publish how often each prompt is sampled. Evertune states 100 samples per prompt and Creaitor states 3, 5 or 10 measurements per data point, depending on plan.
  • Free access is thin. AthenaHQ, Semrush and Squirrly SEO have free plans with limits, and most trackers offer only a 7 to 14 day trial.

How the order works. Compiled from vendor documentation and published pricing, with each tool's facts last verified between August and 29 October 2026. Inside each group the order rests on three things: how much of the job the vendor documents the product doing, how clearly it publishes price and plan limits, and whether free access lets a buyer check fit before paying. Price alone does not set rank.

What are AI visibility and GEO tools, and what do they measure?

AI visibility tools run a fixed set of prompts through answer engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, then record whether your brand is mentioned, recommended or cited. GEO, short for generative engine optimization, is the work of changing pages and sources so that happens more often. Some tools only measure, and others also fix.

The metrics differ by vendor, but the same few recur in the entries behind this guide:

  • Visibility or mention rate: the share of tracked prompts where the brand appears. GetIntel labels each answer as recommended, mentioned, absent or open.
  • Share of voice and competitor benchmarks: how often rivals are named for the same prompts. Creaitor, Rankshift and Nightwatch all report it.
  • Citations and source domains: which pages and publications an engine draws on. KIVA by Wellows reports citations down to the URL.
  • Sentiment: how the answer describes you. Nightwatch, SE Visible and Writesonic list it.
  • AI crawler and referral data: your own logs and analytics rather than synthetic prompts. Rankshift and Profound report crawler activity, and Squirrly SEO reports AI-referred visits through Google Analytics.

Ranking is within a job. A suite with a tracker added and an enterprise platform that serves crawlers are different purchases, so the four groups below are ranked separately. For the wider category of AI SEO products, see Best AI SEO Tools for Marketers.

Which AI visibility tool fits your situation?

Match your situation to a row, then open the ranked group. Each row names the tools whose documented limits fit it, not a single winner, because the right choice turns on how many prompts you track, which engines you need, whether you want fixes as well as measurement, and what you can spend.

What do AI visibility tools cost, and what does each plan count?

Entry prices run from 20 USD a month for Rankscale Essentials to 800 USD for Evertune Pro, and several vendors publish no plan price. The unit a plan counts matters more than the fee, because it is the first limit you will hit as you add prompts, engines or clients.

Plan countsExamples from this guideWatch for
Prompts or questionsNightwatch (50, 150, 500), SE Visible (75, 200, 1,000 daily), GetIntel (25, 60, 120 questions), Rankshift (150 to 850 daily)Whether the cap is per day or per month, and how many engines each prompt runs on

Billing terms change the real cost too. Rankshift and Writesonic show annual prices, KIVA bills monthly only and does not roll unused answers over, and Semrush, SE Ranking and Surfer list prices in euros. Confirm the figure on the vendor page before you buy.

What should you check before paying for an AI visibility tool?

Check four things: how often each prompt is sampled, which engines your plan covers, where the data comes from, and whether fixes can be reversed. Vendors rarely state the first, and the other three are where plans quietly differ from the homepage.

  • Sampling frequency. AI answers vary between runs, so one run per prompt is closer to a single draw than a measurement. Evertune states 100 samples per prompt across 11 models. Creaitor states 3, 5 or 10 measurements per data point by plan. LLMrefs, Otterly and Rankscale do not publish a figure in their entries, so ask.
  • Engines on your plan. Compare the tier you would buy, not the product page. Gauge Growth excludes Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity. SE Visible tracks four engines and lists Claude as coming soon. Otterly sells Claude, Gemini and AI Mode as add-ons.
  • Where the data comes from. Tracker prompts are synthetic, so they show how an engine answers a question you chose. First-party data shows what actually happened: AI-referred visits in your analytics (Squirrly SEO) or AI crawler activity in your logs (Rankshift, Alli AI, Profound, Conductor). GetIntel says ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews are read from the consumer products and Perplexity through its API, which is worth knowing when you compare.
  • Reversible fixes. For any tool that changes pages, ask whether each change waits for approval and whether it can be undone. Frase drafts Content Guard fixes for approval. Scrunch AI serves separate page versions to AI agents, which its entry flags as carrying risk. Alli AI applies one rule across many pages, so test it on a small set first.

For what ChatGPT’s search can fetch and how to allow it, read How to Rank in ChatGPT before you change robots.txt or buy a delivery layer.

How is AI visibility tracking different from classic rank tracking?

A rank tracker records a fixed position for a keyword on a results page, and the same query gives the same answer within a day. An AI visibility tracker samples generated answers that change between runs and have no position table, so it reports how often you appear, who else appears and which sources are cited.

That changes how you read the numbers:

  • Position is replaced by presence. GetIntel reports an average position only when a brand is named, and Squirrly SEO does not report positions inside AI answers at all.
  • Trends beat snapshots. A single reading of a nondeterministic answer is noisy, so compare the same prompt set over several weeks.
  • Prompts replace keywords. You choose buyer questions and group them by topic, rather than importing a keyword list.
  • The two jobs overlap in some products. Nightwatch, Semrush, SE Ranking and Ahrefs track Google rankings and AI prompts side by side. If you still need exact keyword positions, check the plan: Squirrly SEO’s Free and PRO plans include no SERP Checker credits.

For the keyword, content and on-page tools around this job, see Best AI SEO Tools for Marketers.

How is this guide ranked and checked?

Each tool here has a full profile on this site, and every price, limit and free-tier statement on its card is read from that profile. Profiles are compiled from the vendor’s own pricing and product pages, with the verification date shown on the card, and entries range from 8 August to 29 October 2026.

Within a group, the order follows three questions: how much of the job the vendor documents the product doing, how clearly it publishes price and plan limits, and whether free access lets you check fit first. A tool whose price is not published ranks below a comparable one that publishes it. Nothing here was installed or run. Candidates left out of the guide are NeuronWriter and Bluefish AI. One tool here, GetIntel, has an agreed link arrangement on its directory profile, and it is ranked on the same three questions as the rest.

Suites and content tools with AI visibility built in

SEO suites and content platforms that added AI prompt tracking to a product you may already pay for. Check whether tracking sits in the base plan or in a paid add-on.

1

Semrush

SEO suite for keyword research, audits, backlinks and AI visibility tracking

Best for: Marketers who want keywords, audits, rank tracking and AI visibility from one vendor

Ranked first because it documents the widest scope and is the only suite here with a free plan that has stated limits. AI visibility starts on Starter with 50 prompts daily and reaches 100 on Pro+, while the entry SEO plan lists no AI prompt cap. User counts are not published.

Starting price
112.52 EUR per month on annual billing (134 EUR billed monthly) for SEO, 5 websites and 500 daily keywords
Free access
Free plan: 1 demo project and 10 reports a day, no credit card required. Paid plans offer a free trial; the footer states seven days.

Documented strengths

  • Keyword research, competitor analysis and market analysis toolkits
  • Rank tracking with 500 daily keywords on SEO and Starter, 1,500 on Pro+
  • Technical site audit and backlink analysis

Documented limits

  • The pricing page does not state user counts for the SEO, Starter or Pro+ plans, and extra users are an add-on from 43 EUR a month
  • The SEO plan lists no AI prompt limit

Worth it if: Semrush fits a marketer who needs keyword research, rank tracking, audits and AI visibility reports from one vendor, from 112.52 EUR a month on annual billing.

Skip it if: You need published user seat counts or an AI prompt cap on the entry plan, or you only need one narrow job, since the entry plan lists 5 websites and 500 daily keywords.

2

Nightwatch

Rank tracker with AI prompt tracking, from 79 EUR a month

Best for: Teams that want Google rank tracking and AI prompt tracking in one subscription

Every plan lists tracking across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overview, so engine coverage does not step up by tier. The cap is prompts: 50 on Starter, 150 on Professional and 500 on Agency. Seats are unlimited, and Looker Studio and API access start at Professional.

Starting price
79 EUR per month (Starter)
Free access
No free plan. 14 day trial with no credit card on the self-serve plans.
Facts verified

  • AI answers are capped at 1,500, 4,500 and 15,000 a month on the three self-serve plans

Worth it if: Nightwatch suits a team that wants Google rank tracking and AI prompt tracking in one subscription, with the AI allowance sized in tens or hundreds of prompts.

Skip it if: You need thousands of AI prompts below Enterprise level, since the published ceiling is 500 prompts on Agency.

3

SE Ranking

Rank tracking, keyword research and audits with an AI Search add-on

Best for: Budget-conscious teams that want rank tracking and audits on a published price

A published price and a no-card trial put it above Ahrefs. Core lists 100 AI prompts daily, and a separate AI Search add-on at 79 EUR a month lists 75 daily prompts across 5 engines. Confirm which figure applies to the AI product you intend to buy, because the entry lists both.

Starting price
87.20 EUR per month on annual billing (109 EUR billed monthly) for Core, 10 projects and 2,000 daily keywords
Free access
No free plan. Core and Growth offer a 14 day free trial with no credit card required.

  • Website Audit, On-Page SEO Checker and Backlink Checker
  • Content Editor and AI Writer, with 25 articles on Core and 50 on Growth

Worth it if: SE Ranking suits a marketer who wants rank tracking, audits and keyword research on a published price, from 87.20 EUR a month on annual billing with a 14 day trial.

Skip it if: You need AI visibility inside the base plan, since AI Search is a paid add-on, or need more than 3 manager seats without paying for extras.

4

Ahrefs

Backlink, keyword and rank data suite with Brand Radar for AI mentions

Best for: Teams that put backlink and keyword data first and want AI mention tracking beside it

The data tools are well documented, and Lite lists 150 AI prompt checks, rising to 600 on Advanced. Brand Radar, the dedicated AI mention product, starts at 179 EUR a month on its own, and custom prompt packages cost extra. Each plan includes 1 user. Free limits are not published.

Starting price
119 EUR per month for Lite, 750 keywords and 1 user (Starter is listed at 27 EUR a month without stated limits)
Free access
Ahrefs Free is offered; the pricing page lists no limits or trial terms for it.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Site Audit and Rank Tracker
  • Brand Radar tracking brand mentions, citations and sentiment across AI chatbots
  • Content Explorer and AI Content Helper

Documented limits

  • Each of Lite, Standard and Advanced includes 1 user; extra seats are paid add-ons
  • Annual prices were not listed on the page; only a saving of up to 17% is stated

Worth it if: Ahrefs suits a marketer who wants backlink and keyword data with rank tracking, from 119 EUR a month for Lite with 750 keywords and 1 user.

Skip it if: You need several seats on one price, since each plan includes 1 user, or want AI visibility bundled, since Brand Radar AI starts at 179 EUR a month on its own.

5

Writesonic

AI visibility tracking, site audits and GEO content fixes, capped by prompts and seats

Best for: Marketers who want tracking, AI crawler audits and GEO page fixes in one plan

Documents more than tracking: daily prompts, an Action Center that ranks opportunities, and a site audit that flags errors served to AI crawlers. Starter, Basic and Growth track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and all 9 platforms need Enterprise. Monthly prices and trial length are not stated.

Starting price
$79 a month for Starter on annual billing, with 50 prompts and 1 user
Free access
The page states start free with no credit card needed and shows Start free trial buttons, but gives no trial length or permanent free allowance. A 7 day no-questions-asked refund is stated.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Prompt tracking across AI platforms, using recommended prompts or your own, run daily with visibility, citations and sentiment shown
  • Action Center, which ranks opportunities such as missing prompts, citation gaps, content fixes and technical issues
  • Site audit covering robots.txt, schema, indexing and broken pages, flagging 404 and 500 errors served to GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot

Documented limits

  • Starter, Basic and Growth track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and only Enterprise tracks all 9 platforms.
  • Action Center is a trial on Growth at 5 off-page and 5 on-page actions a month, and absent on Starter and Basic.

Worth it if: Writesonic fits a marketer who wants AI visibility tracking, AI crawler audits and GEO content fixes in one plan, from 50 tracked prompts at $79 a month to 200 at $399.

Skip it if: You need a published monthly price, since the page shows annual billing only, or you need more than 2 projects, which requires Enterprise.

6

Frase

SEO and GEO content research, writing and monitoring, sold by monthly article caps

Best for: One-site marketers who want research, writing and AI prompt tracking on one plan

Caps on AI Visibility prompts are published: 20 on Starter, 50 on Professional and 75 on Scale. Extra prompts cost 0.25 USD each on Professional if overages are switched on. Historical data is current only on Starter. Content Guard drafts fixes for ranking decay for approval.

Starting price
39 USD per month billed yearly (49 USD month to month) for Starter, 1 seat and 10 articles
Free access
No free plan published. A 7 day trial with no credit card is offered on Starter, Professional and Scale, capped at 5 articles, 50 audit pages, 25 AI prompts and up to 3 seats.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Research, writer and images are included on all plans, with SEO and GEO scores
  • AI Visibility monitors prompts across AI answer engines, with more engines on higher plans
  • Content Guard watches for ranking decay and drafts fixes for approval

Documented limits

  • Starter caps at 1 seat, 1 site, 10 articles, 50 audit pages and 25 AI generations a month
  • Starter holds at its limits, while Professional and Scale offer optional pay-as-you-go overages that are off by default

Worth it if: Frase suits a single-site marketer producing about 10 articles a month, or a small team on Professional at 129 USD monthly for 3 seats and 40 articles.

Skip it if: You need a published free tier or more than 10 sites without Enterprise, since Scale tops out at 10 and no free plan is published.

7

Scalenut

GEO article writing, AI answer tracking and an expert-run service tier

Best for: Teams that want GEO article writing and prompt tracking on one plan

Prompt caps are 10, 25 and 100 by plan, refreshed weekly, on ChatGPT and Google AIO, with Perplexity from Professional. Weekly refresh puts it below daily trackers for monitoring. A promotional price appears beside each list price, and the page does not say whether it needs annual billing.

Starting price
59 USD a month for Starter, rising to 199 USD a month for Professional, with a promotional 24 USD to 80 USD also shown
Free access
No free plan is listed on the pricing page. Starter, Plus and Professional show a 7 day free trial.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Tracks up to 10, 25 or 100 prompts by plan with a weekly refresh, across ChatGPT and Google AIO, with Perplexity added on Professional
  • Creates and optimizes GEO articles, and builds keyword clusters, with monthly caps by plan
  • GEO content audit of 200 webpages a month on Plus and 1,000 on Professional

Documented limits

  • Prompt tracking is capped at 10, 25 and 100 prompts on the listed plans and is shown with a weekly refresh.
  • Starter lists tracking on ChatGPT and Google AIO, and Perplexity appears from Professional.

Worth it if: Scalenut fits a team that wants prompt tracking and article production in one place, from 59 USD a month for 10 prompts and 5 articles, or a brand that wants a dedicated strategist and 7 AI agents under the custom VIP Service.

Skip it if: You need to track more than 100 prompts, or you need prompt tracking on engines beyond ChatGPT, Google AIO and Perplexity from a listed plan.

8

Clearscope

Content optimization and AI query tracking, sold by tracked queries and pages

Best for: Editorial teams with many writers that want query tracking next to content grades

Users are unlimited, so cost follows tracked queries and pages: 50 of each on Essentials, 300 on Business at 399 USD. Query Tracking lists ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. It has the highest entry price in this group, and trial limits and card terms are not published.

Starting price
129 USD per month for Essentials, 50 tracked queries and 50 pages
Free access
No free plan. A 14 day free trial is mentioned on the pricing page. Trial limits and card requirement are not published.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Query Tracking monitors where a brand appears in ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, and where competitors are recommended
  • Query Discovery finds queries driving search and AI visibility from a topic or website URL
  • Search intent analysis shows the reasons behind a search so content can match it

Documented limits

  • Essentials caps tracked queries at 50 and pages at 50, with 20 Discoveries and 20 Drafts a month
  • Business raises tracked queries and pages to 300 but keeps Drafts at 20 a month

Worth it if: Clearscope fits a team that needs many writers on one plan, since users are unlimited, and can work within 50 tracked queries and 50 pages at 129 USD a month.

Skip it if: You need published integrations or plan-level report credit amounts before buying, since the pricing page lists neither.

9

Surfer SEO

Content optimization scoring plus AI answer tracking, sold by document credits

Best for: Publishers who score drafts before publishing and want an AI tracker on the same plan

Its AI Tracker monitors prompts across answer engines, but the entry gives no prompt cap, engine list or refresh rate, and plans are sold by documents (120 on Discovery). Ranked last in this group because the tracking limits are the least documented. This entry is also the oldest, last verified 8 August 2026.

Starting price
49 EUR per month for Discovery, 1 seat and 120 documents
Free access
No free plan. A 7 day money-back guarantee applies to first-time monthly subscribers, excluding add-ons, AI credits and overages.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Content Editor reliably surfaces subtopics competitors cover that your draft missed
  • Topical Map turns a subject into a plannable cluster rather than a list of keywords
  • AI Tracker monitors prompts across answer engines, which most SEO platforms still treat as an afterthought

Documented limits

  • Pricing is per document rather than per seat, so cost tracks output volume in a way that is easy to underestimate
  • The Discovery plan is a single seat, which rules it out for most teams

Worth it if: You publish enough content to need a consistent pre-publish check, at 49 EUR a month for 1 seat and 120 documents.

Skip it if: Your problem is technical health or links rather than content coverage, or you publish at low volume, since credits expire against a monthly allowance.

Dedicated AI visibility trackers

Products built only to measure brand mentions and citations in AI answers, most with published prices. Compare prompts, engines and refresh frequency, not the monthly fee.

1

LLMrefs

One plan, 500 prompts, every engine, unlimited seats

Best for: Teams that want one flat price covering every engine, project and seat

Ranked first for the simplest published plan: 500 prompts, 11 or more engines, unlimited projects and seats, and geo-targeting across more than 50 countries. The plan describes weekly reporting, sampling per prompt is not published, there is no larger tier, and SSO is not offered.

Starting price
79 USD per month, single tier
Free access
No free plan. 7 day free trial with no credit card required.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • A single plan at 79 dollars a month with 500 prompts, unlimited projects and unlimited team members, which is a fraction of enterprise alternatives
  • Coverage spans 11 or more engines including ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta AI and DeepSeek
  • Geo-targeting across more than 50 countries and 20 languages, which most competitors restrict by tier

Documented limits

  • One paid tier only, so there is no plan with a larger base allowance to grow into, and no published price for the extra keywords sold on top of the 500
  • No SSO, audit logs or enterprise contracting terms are offered, which rules it out of some procurement processes

Worth it if: You want AI search tracking at a flat 79 USD a month with 500 prompts, unlimited projects and unlimited seats.

Skip it if: You need more than 500 tracked prompts, since there is no larger tier, or you need SSO and enterprise support terms.

2

AthenaHQ

AI search visibility tracking with a fully published price list

Best for: Teams that want to test the premise on a free plan before paying

Publishes every tier and has a free plan with stated limits: 300 credits across 5 AI platforms and unlimited seats. One credit equals one AI response, so cost is prompts times engines times refresh frequency. Paid plans cover 9 engines, and API access on Starter is a billed add-on.

Starting price
295 USD per month for Starter, with a 17 percent annual discount
Free access
Essential plan with 300 credits and 5 AI platforms, unlimited seats.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Pricing is fully published, from a free tier to a 295 dollar Starter plan, which is close to unique in this category
  • One credit equals one AI response, so cost can be calculated from prompts times engines times refresh frequency
  • Unlimited seats on every tier including the free plan, so the tool does not tax collaboration

Documented limits

  • API access on the Starter plan is a paid add-on billed separately, so the 295 dollar figure is a floor rather than a total
  • Credits are consumed per response, so tracking many prompts across many engines daily exhausts an allowance faster than the headline number suggests

Worth it if: You need a published price to benchmark GEO quotes against, and unlimited seats on every tier including the free 300-credit plan.

Skip it if: You track many brands, where credit consumption multiplies, or you need API access on the entry paid plan rather than as a billed add-on.

3

OtterlyAI

AI search monitoring from 29 USD, with newer engines sold separately

Best for: Testing whether AI visibility matters to you, cheaply

Daily tracking and unlimited seats on every tier. Prompts are 15 on Lite, 100 on Standard and 400 on Premium. Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode are paid add-ons, so engine coverage costs more than the headline. The step from Lite at 29 USD to Standard at 189 USD is more than sixfold.

Starting price
29 USD per month for Lite, or 25 USD billed annually
Free access
No free plan. A free trial is offered for new users.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Entry pricing at 29 dollars a month is the lowest credible option reviewed in this category
  • Daily update frequency on every tier including the cheapest, where competitors often reserve refresh rate for higher plans
  • Unlimited team members on all tiers, so the data is not rationed by seat cost

Documented limits

  • Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are add-ons rather than included, so real engine coverage costs more than the headline price
  • The jump from Lite at 29 dollars to Standard at 189 is more than sixfold, with 15 prompts against 100

Worth it if: You want to test whether AI search visibility matters to you at 29 USD a month, with daily tracking and unlimited seats on every tier.

Skip it if: You need Claude, Gemini or AI Mode coverage without paying extra, or you track more than 400 prompts.

  • Reports visibility score, share of voice, citation analytics, sentiment and a competitor leaderboard
  • Agent analytics shows when AI crawlers such as GPTBot and ClaudeBot read pages

Documented limits

  • Prompts are capped per day at 150, 350 and 850, and credits at 9,500, 22,000 and 53,000, so the plan depends on prompts, engines and refresh frequency.
  • Prices on the page were shown billed annually, and a monthly-billed price was not read, so it is not recorded here.

Worth it if: You want AI search tracking across many engines with unlimited seats and projects, priced by prompts a day, and you can work within 150 to 850 daily prompts.

Skip it if: You need a published free trial or a monthly-billed price confirmed before checkout, since the prices read were shown billed annually and no trial is mentioned.

Worth it if: SE Visible fits a team that wants prompt-based AI visibility tracking on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overview with published prompt and project caps.

6

GetIntel

AI visibility tracker that checks answer engines daily, priced by question count

Best for: SaaS marketing teams tracking a fixed list of buyer questions daily

Checks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews daily, and the page says the first three are read from the consumer products. Question caps are 25, 60 and 120. A free 60-check score needs no signup, but the trial takes a card and charges on day 8. Claude is Growth only and weekly.

Starting price
29 USD per month for Monitor (25 questions)
Free access
No free plan. A 7 day trial with Pro access covers 25 questions checked daily. A free score check of 60 checks needs no signup.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Four engines checked daily on every plan: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with Claude added weekly on Growth
  • Each question gets an answer state per engine (recommended, mentioned, absent or open), an average position when named, the full answer text and the cited domains and pages
  • Questions are grouped into buyer topics, each scored on a 7 day rolling measure with trend and week over week change

Documented limits

  • Claude is covered only on Growth and only weekly. The other four engines are daily.
  • Question counts are capped per plan: 25 on Monitor, 60 on Pro and 120 on Growth.

Worth it if: GetIntel fits a SaaS marketing team or agency that wants daily tracking of a defined list of buyer questions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, from 29 USD a month.

Skip it if: You need Claude tracked daily, since it is weekly and Growth only, you need more than 120 questions on one plan, or you cannot enter a card for the trial.

7

KIVA by Wellows

AI citation tracking for brands and agencies, sold as monthly AI answer allowances

Best for: Brands and agencies wanting citation tracking across five engines

Sold by AI answers a month, from 1,800 on Basic to 36,000 on Scale at 497 USD, with unlimited projects. Unused answers do not roll over and billing is monthly only. How many answers one tracked prompt uses per engine and day is not stated, so the allowance cannot be converted to prompts.

Starting price
29 USD per month for Basic with 1,800 AI answers, rising to 497 USD for Scale
Free access
No free plan. 7 day free trial on every plan, with no charges during the trial.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Tracks citations in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode, separating explicit mentions from implicit ones
  • Reads how the brand is described inside the cited pages themselves, not only in the answer wording
  • Daily updates down to the URL, with historical views of which pages cited a brand then and now

Documented limits

  • Plans are billed monthly only. The balance resets on the billing date and unused answers do not roll over.
  • The AI answer allowance is 1,800, 6,500, 18,000 or 36,000 a month. How many answers one tracked prompt uses per engine and day is not stated on the pricing page.

Worth it if: KIVA by Wellows fits a brand or agency that wants citation tracking across five AI engines with unlimited projects, and can work within 1,800 AI answers a month on Basic at 29 USD.

Skip it if: You need annual billing or credits that roll over, since the plans are monthly only and unused answers reset on the billing date.

8

Rankscale

Tracks 17 or more AI engines, with page audits and prompt volume research

Best for: Brands that need coverage beyond the usual four or five engines

Lists 17 or more engines including DeepSeek, Grok and Mistral, with page audits and a credit calculator. Pro is 99 USD for 1,200 credits and Enterprise 780 USD for 12,000. The 20 USD Essentials credit allowance is not published, which ranks it below trackers that state their entry limits.

Starting price
From 20 USD a month for Essentials
Free access
No free plan. 7 day free trial on Pro, with no charge until day 7.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Coverage of 17 or more engines including DeepSeek, Grok and Mistral alongside the obvious ones, which is the broadest in this category
  • Page audits evaluating more than 200 technical factors address retrieval, which is the one causally clear part of AI visibility
  • Prompt research with volume estimation tackles the guesswork most competitors leave to the customer

Documented limits

  • No pricing published, which is now the exception in this category rather than the norm, since several competitors publish full tier lists
  • Founded in October 2024, so the product, the data history and the company are all young

Worth it if: You need coverage beyond the four or five engines most tools track, at 17 or more including DeepSeek, Grok and Mistral.

Skip it if: Your procurement requires a long vendor track record, or you need published pricing to shortlist.

9

Creaitor

Tracks how AI assistants mention a brand, sold by domains, credits and models

Best for: Marketing teams tracking up to 7 domains across four assistants

Publishes plan limits but no prices: 1, 3 or 7 domains, 2,000 to 10,000 credits, and 2, 3 or 4 models, with Claude only on Pro. It is one of few vendors to state measurements per data point (3, 5 or 10). The no-card trial lets you see the price before committing.

Starting price
Not published
Free access
No free plan. 7 day free trial, no credit card required.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Discovers buyer questions and groups them by intent, deduplicated across ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity
  • Reports visibility score, share of voice, source citations, brand sentiment and competitor benchmarks
  • Models included by tier: 2 on Starter (ChatGPT, Gemini), 3 on Plus (adds Perplexity), 4 on Pro (adds Claude), and a wider set on Enterprise

Documented limits

  • No plan price is shown. The pricing page text lists Starter, Plus and Pro with a per-month label and no amount, and Enterprise as Custom.
  • Claude and API access start at Pro. Starter tracks ChatGPT and Gemini only, and Plus adds Perplexity.

Worth it if: Creaitor fits a marketing team tracking up to 7 domains on 10,000 credits a month across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, and willing to start from the 7 day free trial.

Skip it if: You need a published price before a trial, or Claude and API access below Pro, since Starter and Plus omit Claude and no plan price appears on the page.

10

Peec AI

AI visibility analytics with a published feature matrix and unpublished prices

Best for: Teams that want a detailed feature matrix before talking to sales

Daily tracking across six engines on every tier, with tiers separated by projects (1, 2 and 5) and by Looker Studio and API access. Countries are capped at three per project. Ranked last because Starter, Pro and Advanced carry no prices and trial terms are not stated.

Starting price
Not published. Starter, Pro and Advanced tiers are named without prices.
Free access
No free plan published. A free trial is referenced on the site.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Daily tracking on every tier including the entry plan, where competitors often reserve frequency for higher tiers
  • Six engines covered on all plans, including AI Mode, AI Overviews and Copilot alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini
  • Source identification shows which publications engines cite, not only whether you appear

Documented limits

  • No prices published on any tier, despite a fully published feature comparison, which is the worst of both worlds for budgeting
  • Projects are capped at 1, 2 and 5 across the self-serve tiers, which is restrictive for agencies

Worth it if: You want daily AI visibility tracking across six engines on every tier, with the feature matrix published in detail.

Skip it if: You are an agency, since project limits of 1 to 5 constrain multi-client work, or you operate in more than three countries per project.

Enterprise and managed GEO platforms

Higher-priced or quote-only platforms that add crawler data, content production, services or shopping coverage to monitoring. Ask what is software and what is retained service.

1

Gauge

AI visibility tracking from 599 USD a month, 600 daily prompts

Best for: Teams that want self-serve tracking with content publishing built in

Ranked first because the self-serve price and every cap are published: 600 daily prompts, 54,000 answers a month, 3 seats and 18 articles. Growth tracks 3 engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Copilot) and excludes AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity. Claude and Grok are optional and use your own API keys.

Starting price
599 USD per month (Growth)
Free access
No free plan or trial is stated for AI Visibility. Enterprise is reached through a demo booking.
Facts verified
October 2026

Documented strengths

  • Prompt tracking with daily answers, plus competitor tracking, citation analysis and search fanouts
  • Growth plan covers ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot, with unlimited domains and competitors
  • Content engine, content library and Action Center for recommended actions, with CMS publishing to Webflow, Framer, Sanity and GitHub

Documented limits

  • Growth excludes Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, sentiment analysis and exports, which are Enterprise features
  • Growth is capped at 600 prompts, 3 seats, a single location and 18 articles a month

Worth it if: Gauge Growth fits a team that wants self-serve AI visibility tracking with content publishing built in and can work within 3 engines and 3 seats.

Skip it if: You need Google AI Overviews, Gemini or Perplexity tracking, sentiment analysis or exports, which the published Growth plan excludes.

2

Goodie

Answer engine optimization sold as software and service, including AI shopping

Best for: Brands that want execution with measurement, or products that must surface in AI shopping

Two published ladders: brand plans at 399 USD (Core) and 999 USD (Pro), and an agency Growth tier at 275 USD. Scope runs past measurement into content and an Agentic Commerce Suite for AI shopping. The page does not separate subscription from retained service, so ask before comparing to software-only tools.

Starting price
275 USD a month for the agency Growth tier, or 399 USD for brand Core
Free access
No free plan. 7 day free trial on the Core tier.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Scope extends past measurement into content production, technical gap analysis and attribution
  • The Agentic Commerce Suite addresses product visibility inside AI shopping agents, which almost nothing else covers yet
  • The Agent Experience Suite targets technical retrievability, which is the causally clearest part of this work

Documented limits

  • Case study figures such as a 127 percent increase in AI conversions are published without control groups or measurement methodology
  • Being part software and part service makes the comparison against pure software vendors uneven on price and on scope

Worth it if: You want GEO execution alongside measurement, or you sell products that need to surface inside AI shopping agents.

Skip it if: You want software only and will do the work yourself, or you need published pricing to shortlist.

3

Evertune

Samples each prompt 100 times, and sells ad placement inside AI answers

Best for: Brands that want an AI visibility number backed by repeated sampling

The clearest sampling claim here: each prompt 100 times across 11 models. Pro at 800 USD is the one public figure. Evertune also sells ad placement inside AI answers, which puts it on both sides of the metric it reports. No free access is published.

Starting price
800 USD a month for Pro
Free access
None published.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Samples each prompt 100 times across every model, which addresses nondeterminism rather than ignoring it
  • Benchmarks across 11 AI models rather than reading a single engine
  • EverPanel, a stated panel of over 150 million user prompts, grounds prompt selection in observed demand rather than guesswork

Documented limits

  • Selling ad placement in AI answers while also measuring AI visibility puts the vendor on both sides of the metric it reports
  • No pricing published, so affordability cannot be assessed without a sales conversation

Worth it if: You want an AI visibility number with sampling behind it, at 800 USD a month for Pro: each prompt sampled 100 times across 11 models.

Skip it if: You want measurement kept strictly separate from media sales, since the same vendor sells ad placement inside AI answers.

4

GetCito

AI visibility monitoring with a local and regional emphasis

Best for: Brands whose visibility question is regional rather than national

Growth bundles 34 hours a month of content and citation work with 50 prompts, and Scale at 999 USD adds 68 hours and 100 prompts. The free self-host plan uses third-party APIs, so engine costs fall to you. Sampling methodology is not published, and the page presents the company as both software and agency.

Starting price
599 USD per month for Growth, 999 USD for Scale, with a free self-hosted plan
Free access
Free Self-Host Plan, distributed via GitHub. The managed tiers carry no free option.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • A free self-hosted plan distributed through GitHub, which no other tool in this category offers
  • Managed tiers bundle human delivery with the software, at 5 content pieces and 10 hours of brand mention work a month on Growth, and 10 pieces and 20 hours on Scale
  • Prompt monitoring is quantified per tier, at 50 on Growth and 100 on Scale, so the allowance can be sized before buying

Documented limits

  • The company presents itself as both a software product and an agency across its own pages, which makes what you are buying unclear
  • Open-source positioning appears in some material without a clear statement of what is open and under which licence

Worth it if: Your visibility question is regional rather than national, and you want 34 hours a month of content and citation work bundled with the software at 599 USD.

Skip it if: You need contractual support commitments, or a low-cost managed entry point, since Growth starts at 599 USD a month.

5

  • Conductor Creator provides Content Score, Content Profiles, internal link recommendations and Writing Assistant drafts, from 60 a year on Essentials to 180 on Growth
  • Conductor Monitoring checks site health 24/7, including how AI bots crawl the site, with 100,000 pages monitored on Essentials and 500,000 on Growth

Documented limits

  • No plan price is published. The page describes a usage-based model without rates, billing periods or overage terms.
  • Essentials caps analysis at 1,000 pages, 500 tracked keywords, 5 competitors and 3 tracked websites, and AI Search Credits are not listed for that plan.

Worth it if: You run an enterprise or multi-site SEO program that wants AI search tracking, content scoring and site monitoring in one platform, and you accept a sales conversation to get a price.

Skip it if: You need a published monthly price to shortlist against, or you only want prompt tracking without content and monitoring modules.

6

Skip it if: You need a self-serve paid plan with a posted price, since Enterprise is quoted on request, or you need Meta AI or DeepSeek coverage, which are listed as coming soon.

7

Profound

Enterprise AI search visibility, including how AI crawlers read your site

Best for: Enterprises that need crawler-level data on how AI fetches their site

Documents the deepest crawler view here: Agent Analytics on how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity read your site, plus prompt volume data and eight named engines. Ranked last only because no price or trial terms are published, so budget approval comes before price discovery.

Starting price
Not published. Pricing is quote only, via demo request.
Free access
A Trial tier listed as free, with no terms published.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Agent Analytics tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity crawl and interpret your site, which most competitors do not attempt
  • Prompt Volumes data addresses the question everything else in the category dodges, which is what people actually ask AI
  • Coverage spans eight named engines including Grok, DeepSeek and Copilot alongside the obvious ones

Documented limits

  • No pricing published anywhere, so there is no way to assess affordability without entering a sales process
  • Quote-only pricing in a young category means you cannot benchmark the proposal against anything public except AthenaHQ

Worth it if: You need crawler-level data on how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity fetch and interpret your site, with budget approved before price discovery.

Skip it if: You are a small team or a startup, where a quote-only process is a poor use of scarce time, or you want to start small and expand.

Tools that fix pages or serve AI crawlers

Tools that change what AI systems can read, through bulk page edits, pre-rendered versions or llms.txt files. Confirm whether each change waits for approval and can be undone.

Best for: Teams applying one on-page rule across thousands of pages on 5 to 15 sites

Ranked first for documenting the most of this job at a published price: pre-rendered pages for 50 or more AI crawlers, a bot traffic monitor, and titles, schema and links written in bulk. Business covers 5 sites and 1,250 pages with a weekly crawl. Enterprise pricing is not published.

Starting price
299 USD a month for Business, or 249 USD a month billed annually at 2,990 USD

Documented limits

  • Business covers 5 sites, 5 team members, 500 keywords and 1,250 pages, so large catalogues need extra capacity bought per 250 pages.
  • Enterprise has no published price, only a request demo button.

Worth it if: Alli AI fits an agency or in-house team applying one on-page rule across thousands of pages on 5 to 15 sites, and able to budget 299 to 599 USD a month.

Skip it if: You run one small site, since the lowest published plan covers 5 sites and 1,250 pages, or you need a published Enterprise price, which is shown only as request a demo.

2

Scrunch AI

AI visibility monitoring that also serves separate page versions to AI agents

Best for: Sites with heavy client-side rendering that AI crawlers struggle to read

Monitoring across five engines plus a delivery layer that serves separate page versions to AI agents. Starter is 250 USD billed annually or 300 USD monthly, Growth 417 USD annually. The entry flags that serving crawlers different content from users sits close to cloaking, so the risk sits with the publisher.

Starting price
250 USD a month for Starter billed annually, or 300 USD month-to-month
Free access
No free plan. 7 day free trial of Starter, instant signup with no credit card.
Facts verified
August 2026

Documented strengths

  • Monitoring covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot with citation rankings and competitor benchmarking
  • Error detection for crawl issues addresses the one part of AI visibility with a clear causal chain
  • A 7 day free trial exists, which is rare in a category that mostly gates everything behind demos

Documented limits

  • The Agent Experience Platform serves AI-optimized page versions to bots, which sits close to cloaking and carries risk the marketing does not discuss
  • No pricing published on the homepage, so comparison requires a sales conversation

Worth it if: Your site is heavy on client-side rendering and AI crawlers struggle with it, and you want monitoring plus a delivery layer.

Skip it if: You are unwilling to serve crawlers different content from users, or crawlability is not your constraint.

3

Squirrly SEO

The cheapest route into first-party AI data: it reports AI-referred visits from Google Analytics, manages llms.txt and submits URLs through IndexNow. Free covers 1 site, 1 focus page and 5 AI keyword researches a month. It does not report positions inside AI answers, because the vendor says they vary.

Starting price
19.99 USD per month for PRO, paid annually, rising to 71.99 USD for Business

Documented limits

Worth it if: Squirrly SEO fits a WordPress owner who wants to measure real visits from ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity in Google Analytics and prepare pages for AI search, starting on the free plan with 1 site.

Skip it if: You need exact keyword positions on demand, since Free and PRO include 0 SERP Checker credits and use Google Search Console averages, or you need more than 5 sites on PRO.

Frequently asked questions

What is GEO, and how is it different from SEO?

GEO, or generative engine optimization, is the work of getting a brand mentioned or cited in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. SEO aims for a ranked link on a results page. GEO has no fixed position to win, so it is measured as how often an answer names you.

Do I need a dedicated AI visibility tracker, or does my SEO suite cover it?

A suite is often enough for a first look. Semrush, Nightwatch, SE Ranking, Ahrefs, Frase and Writesonic list AI prompt tracking, though SE Ranking and Ahrefs sell it as an add-on or separate product. A dedicated tracker earns its place when you need more engines, more prompts or stated sampling.

How many prompts do I need to track?

Start from buyer questions for one market, not keyword lists. Entry plans in this guide cap at 25 to 100 prompts: GetIntel 25 questions, Nightwatch and Writesonic 50, Semrush Starter 50 a day. LLMrefs allows 500. Group prompts by topic, and buy more only when the first set is stable.

How often are prompts sampled, and does it matter?

It matters because AI answers vary between runs, so one run is closer to noise than measurement. Most vendors do not publish sampling frequency. Evertune states 100 samples per prompt, and Creaitor states 3, 5 or 10 measurements per data point. Ask any vendor for the figure before you pay.

Are there free AI visibility tools?

Several give limited free access. AthenaHQ has a free plan with 300 credits across 5 platforms. Semrush allows 10 reports a day, Squirrly SEO covers 1 WordPress site, and GetCito offers a self-hosted plan. GetIntel gives a free 60-check score, and XFunnel a one-time 50 query audit.

Can one tool track both ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?

Most dedicated trackers do. Nightwatch, SE Visible, GetIntel, LLMrefs and KIVA by Wellows list both. Check the plan, not the product page: Gauge Growth excludes AI Overviews, and Otterly sells Claude, Gemini and AI Mode as add-ons. Scalenut lists ChatGPT and Google AIO, with Perplexity from Professional.

How accurate are AI visibility numbers?

Treat them as trends, not exact rates. Trackers run synthetic prompts, answers change between runs, and vendors seldom publish sampling. Case-study uplifts are vendor-supplied. Squirrly SEO declines to report positions inside AI answers for that reason. Compare the same prompt set over weeks, and check against referral traffic in your analytics.
